After the creation of the Armenian alphabet Mesrop Mashtotz and Sahak
Partev begin to work on the translation of the Bible. This translation surprises
scientists with its accuracy and expressiveness till now. For all descendants it
was, is and will be the Book of Books. Schools, where training was carried out
on the native language, were created. Basically, schools operated at churches
and in many of them studied not only languages, but also astrology, philosophy,
mathematics, grammar, poetry. In the late Middle Ages higher educational
institutions - universities were created. Among them the most well-known are in
Ani (11-12cent.), in Gladzor (13-14 cent.), and in Tatev (11-15 cent.). It is
necessary to note the medieval Armenian jurisprudence. Mchitar Gosh has written
the book of laws which operated all over Armenia.
