TSAGHKADZOR

[Valley of flowers] is one of the most scenic locations in Armenia, where Kecharis monastery, built in the 11-13th centuries, is situated. The monastery is comprised of four churches, a vestibule, and two chapels. It was one of the significant religious and cultural centers of medieval Armenia.

LAKE SEVAN
“The pearl of Armenia” is situated about 2000 meters above sea level. It is the largest lake in the Caucasus and one of the highest large sweet water lakes in the world. A pagan temple was once located on the lake peninsula. Mariam, the daughter of the Bagratuni king, Ashot I, built the present churches of St. Arakelots [Disciples] and Holy Astvatsatsin [Mother of God] in 874.

MONASTERY OF HAGHARTSIN
Was built in the 10-13th centuries. It is located far from populated areas on a plateau surrounded by forested mountains. It is notable for its architecturally valuable structures and more than a hundred mural inscriptions, which are laden with a wealth of information about the social-political history of medieval Armenia.
 

LAKE PARZ
This picturesque lake, set in the deep forested mountains about 9 kilometers northeast of the town of Dilijan, stands 1350 meters above sea-level. The freshly blooming greenery of spring, the coolness of the forest in summer and the harmony of the multitude of colors in autumn, make the beauty of the lake impressive at all times of the year.
 

MONASTERY OF GOSHAVANK
Nor Getik complex was built (12-13 AD) on the base of ancient monastery Getik ruined by earthquake in 1188. Mkhitar Gosh, a scientist and writer, author of first book of Laws played an active role in its reconstruction therefore this complex is more known as Goshavank. The famous school with a huge libruary was founded here by Gosh. One of its student was Kirakos Gandzaketsi the author of famous "History of Armenia". The khachkar (stone-cross) of Goshavank is believed the most beautiful in Aremenia!
